CAS Christmas Card

I made this card using Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes and Everyday Sentiment Banners, W Plus 9 Hand Lettered Holidays stamps and dies and My Favorite Things Bold Diagonals background stamp.

I stamped the background to begin with VersaFine Satin Red ink and whilst it dried I die cut the snowflake and the Merry word.  I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and die cut it with the banner die.  I used a length of gold glitter tape to create a ribbon loop and then stacked the other elements on top with foam tape to add some dimension between the layers. To finish I die cut the background panel and added it to a top folding card base.  I then attached the stacked elements and finally I added glossy accents to the Merry die cut.

Warm Wishes Christmas Card

This card was made using Avery Elle Warm Wishes stamps and dies, Lawn Fawn Merry Messages, Everyday Sentiment Banner dies and stitched Journalling Card die, Stampin’ Up  Merry Medley stamp, Hero Arts embossing powder and ink and finally Bazzill cardstock.

I began by stamping the background stamp in white pigment ink and set it aside to dry while I stamped the images and simply coloured them with Copic markers.  I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and then die cut all the elements.  I assembled the scene using foam tape in places for dimension and  added a gold glitter strip behind the sentiment banner and then assembled the finished card.

Have a Blast - MFT Space Explorer

It has been in excess of 2 years since I last blogged due to health problems.  I am hoping it won’t be another 2 before my next post!

This card was made using My Favorite Things - Space Explorer stamps and dies, Inside & Outside Stitched Circle Stax, Copic Sketch Markers, Bazzill cardstock and Studio Calico Little Stars.

I began by cutting most of a circle from the white card base front, I then added a watercolour piece I created some time ago to the back.  I then stamped, coloured and die cut the image and added foam tape for dimension.  The sentiment from the same stamp set was heat embossed in Hero Arts white embossing powder to the black strip.  I then assembled the card front and added a light layer of Wink of Stella to small areas.

Since taking the photograph I added Glossy Accents to the balloons.

A Hipster Birthday Card

I made this card with Paper Smooches Incognito stamps and Glasses dies, My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Rectangle Stax and Bazzill cardstock.

I began by die-cutting the glasses 3 times from black cardstock.  I adhered them together and added rainbow striped pattern paper as the lenses.  I then stamped the moustache and sentiment with pigment ink.  I used the wonky stitched dies on this panel to add a little detail.  This was then added to a top folding card base.  I finished the inside with the rest of the sentiment and stamped the moustache and glasses in pale gray ink.  The last step was to add Glossy Accents to the glasses frame.

I water coloured the white layer with several layers of distress ink and once dry I flicked on some white copic pigment.  I stamped the sentiment with versafine ink and die cut the border die twice to make the 'heartbeat' line....(do those lines have a proper name??)  Lastly I added a few sequins.

Black & White Sympathy card

Making sympathy cards is never easy and I struggle with what is appropriate.  I think the simplistic nature of this card eases that struggle for me.

I used My Favorite Things Bundles of Blossoms background stamp, Mama Elephant Labeled Messages, masking paper and Versafine Onxy black ink.

Firstly I stamped the sentiment and then masked it.  I then die cut a curve from some masking paper and added it making sure to partly cover the sentiment. It was then simply a case of stamping the background on to the card base.

This card was made using My Favorite Things - Bear Special Birthday stamps and dies, Inside & Outside Stitched Circle Stax, Chevron Grid Background stamp and Cement Grey cardstock and ink, Bazzill cardstock and We R Memory Keepers Gemstone Next Level embossing folder.

The background was stamped directly onto the card base with matching ink first.  I then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and adhered it to the circle, trimming the excess off underneath.  The images, which I coloured with Copic markers were added next with foam tape for dimension.  The circle was then attached to the card base with more foam adhesive.  Next I coated the balloon and gift ribbons with Wink of Stella clear glitter and finally added a layer of Glossy Accents to the balloon.  The white marks that show on the photograph are the reflection from said Glossy Accents.
