CAS Christmas Card

I made this card using Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes and Everyday Sentiment Banners, W Plus 9 Hand Lettered Holidays stamps and dies and My Favorite Things Bold Diagonals background stamp.

I stamped the background to begin with VersaFine Satin Red ink and whilst it dried I die cut the snowflake and the Merry word.  I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and die cut it with the banner die.  I used a length of gold glitter tape to create a ribbon loop and then stacked the other elements on top with foam tape to add some dimension between the layers. To finish I die cut the background panel and added it to a top folding card base.  I then attached the stacked elements and finally I added glossy accents to the Merry die cut.

Warm Wishes Christmas Card

This card was made using Avery Elle Warm Wishes stamps and dies, Lawn Fawn Merry Messages, Everyday Sentiment Banner dies and stitched Journalling Card die, Stampin’ Up  Merry Medley stamp, Hero Arts embossing powder and ink and finally Bazzill cardstock.

I began by stamping the background stamp in white pigment ink and set it aside to dry while I stamped the images and simply coloured them with Copic markers.  I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and then die cut all the elements.  I assembled the scene using foam tape in places for dimension and  added a gold glitter strip behind the sentiment banner and then assembled the finished card.

Merry & Bright - CAS Christmas Card

A simple, easily replicated CAS Christmas card that was inspired by the Metallic challenge at Less Is More .

I used Avery Elle Noel dies, Lawn Fawn Merry Messages stamps, Everyday Sentiment Banners dies, Alpaca Bazzill cardstock and Hero Arts Copper embossing powder.

I die cut the snowflake first and then heat embossed it several times with the copper powder.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white and then die cut with the banner.  I attached the 2 elements together with foam tape and adhered it to the card base with a little more foam tape to create dimension.

Have a Blast - MFT Space Explorer

It has been in excess of 2 years since I last blogged due to health problems.  I am hoping it won’t be another 2 before my next post!

This card was made using My Favorite Things - Space Explorer stamps and dies, Inside & Outside Stitched Circle Stax, Copic Sketch Markers, Bazzill cardstock and Studio Calico Little Stars.

I began by cutting most of a circle from the white card base front, I then added a watercolour piece I created some time ago to the back.  I then stamped, coloured and die cut the image and added foam tape for dimension.  The sentiment from the same stamp set was heat embossed in Hero Arts white embossing powder to the black strip.  I then assembled the card front and added a light layer of Wink of Stella to small areas.

Since taking the photograph I added Glossy Accents to the balloons.

I Just Miss You Card

To make this card I used My Favorite Things Springtime Blooms, Simon Says Stamp Wide Stripe Background stamp, MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle Stax, Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners,  Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Mix and Wink Of Stella in Clear.

I first of all stamped the background onto a top folding card base with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  While this dried I stamped and coloured the flower.  I then die cut the soft blue layer and adhered the flower with foam tape.  I heat embossed the sentiment and die cut it.  I added this over the flower stem using foam tape again.  I then added a light layer of Wink of Stella and finished with a few sequins.

I Kinda Like You Card - MFT Beary Special Birthday

I am slowly getting back into cardmaking and blogging after a winter plagued by health issues.

This card was made using My Favorite Things - Bear Special Birthday stamps and dies, Inside & Outside Stitched Circle Stax, Chevron Grid Background stamp and Cement Grey cardstock and ink, Bazzill cardstock and We R Memory Keepers Gemstone Next Level embossing folder.

The background was stamped directly onto the card base with matching ink first.  I then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and adhered it to the circle, trimming the excess off underneath.  The images, which I coloured with Copic markers were added next with foam tape for dimension.  The circle was then attached to the card base with more foam adhesive.  Next I coated the balloon and gift ribbons with Wink of Stella clear glitter and finally added a layer of Glossy Accents to the balloon.  The white marks that show on the photograph are the reflection from said Glossy Accents.

Vellum Snowflake Card

This card was made using Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints stamp, Hero Arts white embossing powder, Bazzill vellum and cardstock, Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Mix, Distress Ink in Peacock feathers, Lawn Fawn Let It Snow.

I began by heat embossing the snowflake stamp onto vellum.  This was set aside while I inked the background layer with Peacock Feathers ink.  The snowflake layer was adhered embossed side down to give the finished card a more matte appearance.  The sentiment was heat embossed onto black cardstock next and then I layered all the elements together using foam tape behind the sentiment.  Finally, the sequins were adhered randomly across the card front.

Paper Smooches - Metallic Season's Greetings Card

This card was made with Paper Smooches Christmas Words 2, My Favorite Things Inside & Outside Stitched Circle Stax, Hero Arts Copper embossing powder, Simple Stories Snap Color Vibe pattern paper Bazzill cardstock and Wink of Stella glitter pen in clear.

I began by die cutting the sentiment, leaves and holly berries and then heat embossed the sentiment multiple times with the copper embossing powder.  I set this aside and die cut the circle from the white layer, this was then adhered to the top folding card base with foam tape.  The elements were then arranged using a combination of foam tape and glue.  The final step was to coat the holly berries with Wink of Stella.

Thinking Of You Card

This card was made using Taylored Expressions Birch Tree Background, Avery Elle Petals & Stems, a butterfly punch, Hero Arts embossing powder and Bazzill cardstock.

The birch trees were stamped onto Bazzill Alpaca cardstock with MFT Cement Gray ink.  A panel of white was added behind this piece to give a very narrow white edging.  This was then adhered to a top folding card base.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white on Sugar Wafer cardstock and added to the card with foam tape.  The butterflies were punched, layered and positioned on the sentiment strip.

CAS(E) this Sketch - Guest Designer

I was delighted to be asked to be the guest designer for this weeks challenge.  I loved the sketch and had fun creating 4 cards.  I used the same stamp, die set and layout for all the cards but created different backgrounds for each one.  The stamp set is Lil' inker All About Ampersand and the dies are My Favourite Things Ampersand.

For the card above I also used Simon Says Stamp Wide Stripes Background Stamp, MFT Blueprints 13, Hero Arts Platinum embossing powder and MFT cardstock and ink in Grout Gray.

For this card I also used Avery Elle Wonky Stitched dies, Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin and Mustard Seed, Hero Arts Platinum embossing powder and Bazzill cardstock.
This card also used Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes, American Crafts glitter paper and Bazzill cardstock.
